Reportedly, the car crash happened on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. The student of the high school was pronounced dead at the scene. Furthermore, the crash happened on Interstate 64, confirmed by Cabell County Sheriff’s Office. An officer from the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office named Chuch Zerkle reported that the accident involved the student being hit by a vehicle near the 23-mile marker before 2:30 pm. Cabell Midland High School Student Killed
Reports further stated that the road was closed for hours from the eastbound lanes as officers were examining the circumstances of the accident. The traffic was diverted to US 60. The official reported that the student was picked up from his school after he fought with someone there. Later the victim came out of the car on Interstate 64 where he was hit and killed.
After the accident, Jedd Flowers who is the director of communications at Cabell County Schools said on Thursday afternoon, “Good afternoon, Cabell Midland family, we have some sad news. One of our Cabell Midland High School students has been involved in an accident on I-64. We are not able to confirm his condition at this time.
The support staff will be available for students and staff throughout the day Friday. Some buses will be delayed this afternoon due to traffic. Our thoughts are with both the student’s family and Cabell Midland family during this difficult time.” Talking about the identity of the student who died in a car accident, the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office has not revealed any information about victim’s identity.
