According to the reports, Ali Raza Sadpala died on 27 May 2022 at the age of 56. He suffered from critical and life-threatening injuries after falling down from a cliff in the course of a routine rock climbing exercise nearby his village in Skardu. After the unfortunate incident, he was immediately taken to the RHQ Skardu Hospital in Gilgit-Baltistan where he was pronounced dead after some time of treatment. The exercise he was doing was part of his pre-expedition preparations for the K-2 summer expedition. His funeral ceremony was held at 10 pm at Old Young Immbargah.

He owned Gasherbrum One, Broad Peak, SiaKangri, Install BaltoroKangri, Nanga Parbat, Spantik, and Gasherbrum Two. He also tried to climb K2 twice but returned due to extremely bad weather.
